Daniel Day-Lewis and Marion Cotillard are Hollywood's Best for 2007

Daniel Day-Lewis bagged the Best Actor award (male) for his role in "There Will Be Blood" and Marion Cotillard bagged the Best Actor award (female) for her role in "La Vie en Rose", at the 80th Academy Awards.

For those who might be interested: Daniel Day-Lewis was born in London, England and Marion Cotillard was born in Paris, France. Congratulations to England and France!

Heath Ledger Dead at 28

Heath Ledger who was nominated for an Academy Award for his role as a gay cowboy in the 2005 film "Brokeback Mountain," was found dead yesterday in a Manhattan apartment located at 421 Broome Street in the SoHo neighborhood of New York City. Police are reportedly investigating if the Australian actor died of an overdose of prescription pills. (more at CNN).

Hollywood Shoots around Los Angeles Mapped!

Los Angeles resident Dave Bullock has created a Google Maps Mashup which shows the locations of current television, film and commercial shoots on the streets of Los Angeles. This mashup in addition to providing info to Los Angeles residents about where film shoots are taking place is also proving to be a handy tool for picketers and striking scribes eager to disrupt sets.
